German classes this past week has been anything but easy. I've been rather nerd-ish and have been trying to memorise as many Verbs. But it's NOT working! And just when i'm starting to understand something, each day something new is thrown my way. We're nearly at the end of Section 7 and it so happens to be the last chapter of the book.
I'm still trying to get my head around the first half and i'm sure it's not going to get any easier. So yes, THAT is my bitch for the moment! Ich verstehe nicht!

But i can't really complain since i already knew it was going to be hard. BUT one thing i am happy about is the weather. It's currently resting around the 24˙C mark. The past week has been absolutely beautiful with the clearest of clear blue and cloudless skies!
Finally, i foresee my pastiness seeing the light of day and soon, i will have my tan back.
The 1st of May was a public holiday and it so happened to land on Thursday so J took Friday off to spend the long weekend with Boobers and i. I, on the other hand had to go to class on Friday but all i could think about was knockin' back a beer and enjoying the holiday. I cooked dinner for the three of us and it even included a homemade Caesar salad dressing inclusive of the raw egg yolk. And i must say, it tasted quite good. Don't worry, nobody got food poisoning. We washed it all down with white white and champagne courtesy of J.

Then on Saturday J, M and i ventured out to watch the Fireworks display along the Rhein in Bonn, "Rhein in Flammen". They estimated about 350,000 people and people of all ages came out of nowhere to watch it and i think that's only in Bonn. In Köln it's something like 400,000! It's insane. The lake was littered with youngsters and people busted out with their BBQ grills and what seemed like an endless supply of beers. But the fireworks was absolutely stunning, it seemed to go on for ages.
...Once a year, "The Rhine in Flames along the Siebengebirge” (Rhein in Flammen am Siebengebirge) is organised between Linz and Bonn. The river banks and numerous landmarks and sights are bathed in magic colours. Along the Rhine promenades of Linz, Remagen, Rheinbreitbach, Unkel, Bad Honnef, Königswinter, Niederdollendorf and Bonn, 2,000 red Bengal lights and five fireworks add an incomparable ambience to the Rhine Valley that night... Once again, i forgot that i had a recording feature on my Lumix. So i've shamelessly stolen the Fireworks Finale from someone else. Danke Schön! Watching it in motion with the Opera music in the background was simply amazing. What a great night it was.
