There's More To Life Than Eating Bread + Cheese.

At the moment it's grey and the clouds look like they're rushing past as if they're late for an appointment. Branches are swaying and the slight draft coming from under the main door is creating a slight howling noise. A quick peek at the 7-day weather forecast and it doesn't look like there's going to be much of a change.

Boo to crappy weather!

I'm hoping the weatherman is lying when he says there's going to be rain later. But it's been so fickle lately, i haven't figured out when it's just teasing or i should be expecting a huge downpour.

Yesterday after bookmarking some potential 3-room apartments for rent online, i planned on doing the weeks' worth of grocery shopping.

Ya know, to surprise J when he came home from work and to emphasize my independence. But to also further highlight that i don't really need him to chauffeur me around and help me carry the bags.

But thanks to the beauty of cramps, the last thing i wanted to do was ride my bicycle carrying an overloaded knapsack in the cold.

I know, i know.

There are thousands of people that do it, why can't i?

Well we're not starving, that's for one. And we seem to have just run out of the core ingredients to make some meals complete. Just so you know, i have no issues eating cereal... again.

Perhaps i just need some inspiration.

So i made a healthy fresh vegetable soup with what we had in the kitchen; an onion, some garlic and whatever potatoes we had left. I also combined them with the vegetable bundle for soups i got last week, which consisted of some parsley, carrots, a leek and a partial turnip. I threw in some bay leaves, pepper, salt, random herbs, vegetable stock and left it to simmer for a few hours.

And seeing that i finished all the bread and cheese earlier on, i improvised by breaking up pieces of Zweiback and sprinkled them on top for some extra bite.

But i have full intentions on going to the supermarket later.

I'm in need of a few ingredients for the simple cinnamon rolls i plan on baking later [thanks Sharon for sharing the link to the recipe]. Plus the CO2 bottle that helps make sparkling water out of normal tap water has run out and my printers' black ink cartridge is in desperate need of a refill.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't rain later, the wind dies down a tad and the attack of the cramps doesn't leave me temporarily crippled again.
