Mid-week Weekend.

For some reason, the last two days have felt like the weekend. Probably because J's been at home the whole time. He needed to finish off his annual leave and chose the day before and yesterday off just in case we had to drive down to Cologne and look at more apartments.

But not anymore!

Good news is, i found our contract for the apartment we're moving into sitting in our frozen mailbox this morning. Now it's just a matter of signing it and transferring the security deposit to make it all official.

Yay!

So let's rewind a bit... what happened on Tuesday?

We bought some DVDs at a discounted price. Checked out prices for gaming laptops - obviously for you know who. Bought a bunch of really expensive Christmas cards for various members of our families. Tried on a pair of really warm ear muffs but in the end couldn't bring myself to buy them because they were made out of real rabbit fur. They were so soft, it felt like Luna was curled around my ears!

But i did end up finding a birthday present for my niece - she turns one this coming Sunday... eee so cute!

And no, it isn't a rabbit.

Later i got lured into doing a Dance Central demonstration for XBox 360 Kinect - which i must say, is now on my wish list. Move over Nintendo Wii, XBox 360 Kinect is waaaaay cooler.

And last but not least, ended our day at the supermarket where we bought the necessities and extras so neither one of us would starve.

As for yesterday, it was a rather unproductive day.

J caught up on last sleep and i overslept. I didn't do nearly as much work as i had wished but i did make again my latest favorite dish: soy *fake* nuggets with a tomato-based sauce.

It's super yummy and easy to make. I'll post up the recipe later.

Then last night it snowed even more, so when i woke up this morning everything was covered in a thick white blanket. It was so pretty, i just wanted to dive right in!

But apparently there's been so many reported accidents of people breaking their arm or leg thanks to the snow melting and turning into ice. And with the weatherman predicting rain for the next few days, it doesn't look like the ground will be any safer.

So before it all turns to slush, i thought i'd take some photos. The one above is of J scraping the snow off of the car.

I figured since i was outside already, i thought maybe i'd shovel the snow off the pathway which leads to the rubbish bin. A place where i intend to be visiting frequently today.

Our landlord called us late last night to inform us that he's arranged for some potential tenants to come view our place on Friday and on Saturday. This was of course arranged without checking with us if it was OK to invade our space.

What if we were having a party? Or was not at home?

I mean, it would have been nice if he checked with us first before he went ahead and confirmed with those people.

But we do have plans this Saturday.

We are invited by one of J's clients to cut down our very own Christmas tree. Forget the supermarket kind! I'm talking hatchet in hand, the smell of fresh pine and snow beneath our feet variety.

I'm so excited!

But because our landlord wants to show our apartment to some random chick, whom he doesn't even have her contact number, we now have to come back early.

I'm not comfortable with the idea of having strangers walking through our apartment when we're not at home. Plus Luna and Yoshi aren't huge fans of people they don't know. For all we know, they may just end up freaking out. There's no guarantee that they won't spontaneously mark their territory.

So before i get distracted even more and panic because i'm losing out on time, i better get back to tidying/cleaning/organising the apartment. I have a deadline to meet and a load of laundry to hang up to dry.
