Back From the Big City...

I took a total of 374 photos in a span of 39 hours. Starting from the minute we left the park house till we arrived back home from Hamburg one hour later than expected after a last minute change of plans.

I blame daylight-savings ending and the man behind the Deutsche Bahn information counter who said we could take the earlier train via Cologne and change in some other city. He assured us we would get home one hour earlier than if we had taken our scheduled train leaving one hour later.

Liar!

It ended up costing us one extra hour on the train and being told off by the heavily made-up, somewhat attractive, blond train ticket inspector because our price saver tickets didn't allow us to use that particular route. But more specifically, we didn't have a stamp authorizing the change of plans. So as she leaned over distracting other passengers with her very fitted navy coloured trousers and red lipstick, J couldn't help making flirty eyes/smiles with her the whole time.

*Rolls eyes*

But i guess it helped since she was kind enough not to make a big deal about it and didn't insist we purchase two whole new tickets at full price.

Some ticket inspectors can be on such a real power trip.

Note to self, don't randomly change trains if you have an already planned train schedule.

Anyway, before i get long winded and take up three hours of my night trying to regurgitate my thoughts, i'm going to continue in the morning because...

my copy of Things I Wish I'd Known Before We Got Married was sitting in our mailbox when we got back. It was delivered two weeks earlier than expected. And i don't think i've been this excited about wanting to read a book, let alone a self-help/relationships book.

I told J about it as he was on his way to the loo and although he didn't sound as excited as i was, i insisted once i was done he had to read it.

I didn't actually hear what he had to say to that since he closed the door behind him.

So i may just end up giving him the summarized version of the first chapter over dinner tomorrow.
