Hello Kitty Loops

When it comes to cereals, i'm not much of a sweet tooth. I would much rather buy a base of say, toasted muesli WITHOUT raisins - thank you very much. Then combine it with say, toasted bran flakes and some other crispy kind of cereal. Then dribble plain yogurt + milk or just plain soy milk on it. Seriously, it's yummy for all you muesli haters out there.

So anyway yesterday on our way to our regular discounted supermarket we got lost and found ourselves at Schenke supermarket instead. It was a much more fancier supermarket than what we're used to. It even had two whole walls + 2 mini rows filled just for pasta.

Yes. Pasta.

All sorts ranging from 77 cents to 5 Euros. I felt like i was in Carbs heaven and told J we had to come back here next week when my money arrives.

As we snaked through the aisles browsing the products and opting for the cheaper brands, look what else we found...

Yup, Kellogg's has made a limited edition Hello Kitty loops and the best part is, the cereal is pink! It's discounted to 1.99 Euros - which is pretty cheap seeing that most branded cereals sell for nearly 3 Euros, if not more.

I can't say i've ever munched down on anything pink.

It's like suddenly eating blue coloured food. It's just unnatural.

But seeing that our cupboard has 3 half-filled boxes of cereal, i decided against putting it in our shopping cart. Although i am curious to know how they taste and if they really are as pink as the picture claims.

Maybe if they're still selling it next week, i'll go buy it.

So when we got home i wanted to see if Kellogg's had produced it in other countries. Turns out all the sites i landed on were in German, so it seems like it's only available in Germany.

Then i landed on one of Swiss' eBay pages...

Some person in Germany is selling the same cereal for nearly 10 Euros! Not including the shipping of course.

I mean is he/she nuts? Or just trying his/her luck?

For all my Malaysian readers out there, that's like nearly RM60 for a box of what looks like pink coloured Kellogg's Froot Loops [RM39.52/box +RM19.78 for shipping]. I mean, if i were to pay that much on eBay for something that will eventually expire, there better be a silver bracelet with Hello Kitty's face stamped on a lucky charm!

But there isn't.

The betting ends on the 13 Sept. I'm curious to know who in their right mind would purchase a box of cereal for 10 Euros.
