Tis the season for... snow???

Yes i know i've been slacking a bit in the blogging department. Time just seems to disappear. So let's see if i can track back...

Hofgarten entrance
Saturday:
So we went to see the flat which is very central to the city centre. It's near the Rhein river and near the Hofgarten which is this beautiful park that one can walk through to get the city area. We were the first to arrive and early so we thought we'd ask the landlady if it was ok if we saw the place first. Which worked out great because we got more one-on-one time with speaking with her.

The outside isn't so great and nothing special at all but then again, we were more interested in what was inside. The overall flat is 75 metre squared and it has 2 bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. The place is lined with wooden flooring but the place is pretty much gutted so everything needs to be installed ie. the kitchen. The previous tenant painted the walls a warm mocha hue and had built and in-built wooden bed in the kid's room [which is the one that i intend to take over]. And there's space below for the clothes, much like a mini walk-in closet but not quite.

The lady seems really sweet and reminds me of one of the eco-friendly-let's-plant-our-own-herbs kind of woman. And although she spoke to my sister in German, she did make a little effort to squeeze out some English. By the time we were done we stepped out and there must have been at least 20 people huddled together and standing in the wind waiting to view the flat.

But we have to wait til tomorrow for her to make her final decision. In the mean time we're still hunting for more flats.

Then once we were done J picked us up from the station in Bonn and then drove us back to my sister's place which is in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. We then we drove to Düsseldorf which is about an hour and a half by car. He had to go buy work clothes and we even made it to the supermarket. We had our traditional Long Island Tea at a nearby bar and a shot of tequila to start the night rolling.

It still feels surreal that i'm here but so far it feels good. Life works in mysterious ways.

It wasn't so late but we were both tired so we climbed up the 5 flights of stairs into his cosy flat where he shares with 2 other girls. I didn't end up meeting them yet and the next day we spent the whole day lounging around in bed watching DVDs and dozing in and out of la la land. We made breakfast and spent a lazy sunday in bed... Mmmm...

Multi-coloured brekkie in Bed

I must say, my first impression of Düsseldorf, at night, reminds me of Melbourne. Could it be the buildings or the tram lines? I'm not sure but for a second there it felt familiar. Even though i was there for a short time, it was great but then again it could have been the company. We were comfortable and we were very grateful to have some private time with each other.

Then on Sunday night J drove me back to my sister's place **THANK YOU BUNNY** because it was getting late. And unlike some people, he had work in the morning. Where oh where does Time go?

:: Yesterday afternoon... ::

Fast forward to this morning:
Boobers woke up at around 6.30am for whatever reason and that jolted me from my sleep. And then she said, "Quick! Look outside it's snowing!" I stumbled out of bed thinking there'd only be a little layer but i was amazed to see how much snow had actually fallen.

I was like a little girl at Christmas jumping around trying to find my camera in the dark. It's been ages since i saw snow and i couldn't wait til it was bright so i could go outside.

:: Clearing the driveway ::

:: Bustin' out with my bucket of salt ::

:: Oh so pwetty ::

Then around 8.30am we went outside to shovel the snow off the pathway. Apparently this month it's my sister's duty to clear the driveway. But according to her, it's the most snow that anyone's seen the valley for awhile. WooOOooh.

It's supposed to be Spring. Where is all this freaky weather coming from? Damn this global warming! There was even a hurricane over the weekend but it didn't pass through here although the winds were between 80-100 km/hr and many trains were delayed and flights were cancelled.

:: But there's always time for snow angels ::
