Shocking as it might sound but i managed to wake up at the crack of dawn. And it gave me enough time to have my coffee and mix of fresh banana, Weetabix, milk and a dash of joghurt. I can't remember the last time i set my alarm clock that early.
But i must say everything ran smoothly and the send off was rather peaceful and i even got to experience a snippet of what it might be like to be stuck in a morning jam.
At the start Baby A just sat there looking like a stunned mullet trying to figure out who these 2 faces were. I think more me than J of course. Strapped the kids in the car and then we were off.
And the whole time he was in the car he was so quiet. Only the random grunt when we actually arrived. He was so wrapped up with so many layers he looked like a little cocoon. And all he could manage was to look up, down, left and right. But isn't his hat just too cute!? I want one.
But of all the times we've come in contact, he's been good and hasn't screamed his lungs out. I must say, he's a very well-behaved baby around strangers and unlike the very few babies i have carried in my Life, he didn't squirm like a worm and beg for the mother.
We got to Düsseldorf International on time and everything was on schedule. We even had time to have a chit chat over some overpriced coffee. I guess the excitement and adrenalin of the whole situation had everyone smiling and i think it made the whole experience more pleasant.
But she did say she was very grateful for us helping her out and i felt that there was no discomfort between us. And after looking at the amount of luggage they had, all i can say is, my gawd traveling solo with 2 children is definitely not an easy job.
And as crazy as it may sound, i think, if the situation was not what it is, i reckon we would actually be "friends". Scary but true. Or maybe my sleep deprivation has clouded my thoughts and made me more forgiving.
So we said our good-byes and there were no tears. We exited the terminal and the sun was out in full glory. The temperature was perfect. I took it as a sign for both parties who are now embarking on yet another exciting journey, that things are looking brighter and more positive.
So here i am wishing that it all works out for everyone and wishing for the weather to stay as beautiful as it is today.
