Hi, my name is...

My day started about mid-day when i woke realising that shit, i have an interview today with my potential client at 2pm. Eventually i peeled myself off my bed and stumbled over to my computer [one of the first few things i do as soon as i wake up]. I made some coffee and chucked some bread in the toaster. As time ticked away, i got a bit distracted and didn't realise that it was approaching 1.30pm. So i hauled arse to the shower and rummaged through my wardrobe for something decent to wear... hmmmm.

Nugget said i can wear whatever to the meeting, "...just don't wear your 3/4 shorts and slippers..." My response was, "like as though i'm going to rawk up wearing THAT... fine, i'll wear jeans..." *grumble grumble*. Long story short... the meeting went well. They liked a few of my past pieces that i did aaaages ago. I responded attentively and gave a few of my opinions... YAY for me!

I asked Nugget what they thought and she said they thought i was "professional"... ooOoooer!

So by the time i got home, i had little time to do anything cause i had to get my arse to Ruums for the Media launch.
An oportunity to pimp HS and an excuse for me to drink... mmMmmm alcohol is my friend.

Got there early cause Lainey had to get to work. Fumbled around and contemplated whether i should start drinking, ended up chilling downstairs. Later went in and was given a goody bag with various items, one most important being a CD with the pics of the venue. I'll paste them up in a bit. Serena C was the MC for the night and they launched their website, www.ruumsclub.com. Didn't do much schmoozing since by the time i was giving away the Hardsequence goody bags, most of the media people had left... not good not good. Met a few people and did a bit of pimpin' but not as much as i thought i would... hmmph.

So ended up taking a few pics with Lainey, Chook, Supastar, DJ Soft cock... eheh, Bruce and Hsuan. Did a bit of chit chatting and laughed at random things.
[I used Lainey's camera, so once she sends them over, i'll post them up]. According to the schedule Jungle Jerry and Bass Agents were "supposed" to play for an hour each but by 10pm, majority of the people left AND SO DID THE FREE FLOW... not happy Jan!

Goatboi arrived later to pick up the HS flyers and i had conveniently mentioned to the boys that it was his birthday at midnight. He ended up having to drink 2 flaming lamburgini's... ehehhe.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOATBOI!

Well we all left around 11ish or maybe earlier. Ended up in BU and watched football with Chook and Lainey... France vs Switzerland... AND THEN NO GOALS! Well now... that WAS exciting.

Now it's about Ruums
There's so much chit chattering about whether the interior is big and is it really different to Warp [although if you ask many of those who went there back in the day, they'll scratch their head, "ahhh really, Warp issit?].

Last night the club had their Media launch and i was given a goody pack. Inside was various items and one in particular was a CD with images of the venue... NICE! They showed us a sneak preview of their website... www.ruumsclub.com which should be launching soon.

The perception that people get when one says Warp or Channel is usually that it's dark, dodgey but many will confess to having great times there].

THE PLACE HAS CHANGED...

Ruums fits a maximum of 4,000 punters... and the built-up area is a whopping 26,000 squre feet. There are 4 bars and eventually 4 rooms but with an open plan concept. Apparently in due time, they'll have a celebrity Ruum... ooOOooer, that's where the hoity-toity people hang out and sip cocktails and drink an obscene amount of alcohol... hmmmph.

So yea a perfect venue with a fuckin kick arse sound system that seriously, has to be one of the best that i've heard whilst being in KL. Perfect for Bass Agents or Hardsequence events *hint hint nudge nudge* like this saturday 17th June 2006... ehehhe. I HAVE NO SHAME... ehehhe.

ANYWAY, LET THE TOUR BEGIN...

The entrance
As you get to the top of the escalators you're greeted by an open space. The left takes you to the main ruum and if you walk straight ahead it'll take you to the Tropical Ruums area.

Tropical Ruum
So you've decided to go straight. So here you'll see an open space with these individual hanging chairs on the right. They remind me of little cages but surprisingly quite comfy... and bouncy. They only fit one.

Tropical Ruum : VIP area
Then directly on the left, are cushioned areas, supposedly the VIP area. If you peep through the wall, you have clear view of the main ruum and straight ahead is the rest of the the Tropical Ruum. Because it's World cup season, there's football being shown on the screens.

Main Ruum : Stage area
But if you decided to go left at the entrance... you'll be confronted with a huge dance area and a stage on the left. This is where the impressive part of it comes in...

Main Ruum : Bar
You look ahead and there's a bar and if you look up, you have clear view of the VVIP area. The glass railing protects any drunkards from falling over and everywhere you look, you get a great view of the place... There's a bar upstairs [not in view].

Upstairs : VVIP area
Now this is the VVIP area, there's these sofa type beds with the draped curtains... "feels like velvet" And those who manage to make reservations up here or happen to be very VERY important have clear view of the whol club.
