More to life than looks.

My colleague passed me this article online and recommended that i should read it. At first i thought it was some long winded story and was hesitant to open the link. Hell, i know i'm long winded, i wonder how people are able to sit in front of their computers and read about my bollicky day and issues.

But after giving me a jist of what it was, i was intrigued. And had it not been well written, i probably would have gotten bored by the time i got half way. Surprisingly, i didn't and yes, i thought, i should share the article with you all.

Basically, it's a woman telling her side of the story of how she was brought up. No this is not my maternal clock ticking. It honestly is a remarkable story of extra ordinary parents who bring up their children in a somewhat ordinary environment. The only difference is, both her parents are completely blind.

A paragraph i find touching and so true is when she says,
"I think seeing is so primitive. Even a dog and a cat can see. Knowing a personality and knowing how you speak and what you say and how you say it, I think that's more important than how people look. I don't think seeing is knowing." Fred agrees: "Sight is a very misleading and beguiling way of understanding people. Philosophers have raised this question: Is sight misleading? Is it possible that listening and touching get you nearer to people than sight does?"
Makes you wonder eh?
