And in the previous months i've noticed that my dreams have become more and more vivid... I blame the meds for such clarity.
I'm not sure if that's a good thing. The difference between my reality and my subconscious is so minimal, that often i wake up unsure whether i am actually entering another dream chapter or facing the real life.
It is a time where my fantasies and realistic situations morph into a delicious package. That is of course, when i actually do manage to get some sleep... [thanks Stilnox!!!]
My first vivid dream whilst on these meds, was a year or so ago. I clearly remember it was staged like one of those Disney cartoons, you know the original Snow White... well something like that forest and it was staged at night minus the dwarves and NO i was not Snow White and NO there was no prince charming in tights with a cape *cringe*.
The forest was bathed in a moon light that would so conveniently guide me towards my destination... like the ushers in the classic cinemas. These are the types of trees i'm talking about...
It wasn't quite a nightmare and neither was it a cotton candy and bunnies type of dream. I can't remember what was going on but the trees transformed itself and i'd see people... I was either following someone or something was following me. I would lay next to a tree and camouflage myself into the bark.
And i remember floating slowly from my subconscious into reality. As though i was underwater and swimming towards the surface. It was surreal.
But to my disappointment i found myself twisted amongst my covers adjusting to the darkness of my room... I wanted to go back to my enchanted forest... just away from it all.

dream facts & tidbits
1. One third of our lives is spent sleeping. [give or take a couple of years in my case].
2. In your lifetime, you would've spent about 6 years of it dreaming. That is more than 2,100 days spent in a different world. [Once again, give or take a couple of years in my case].
3. Dreams have been here as long as mankind. Back in the Roman Era, striking and significant dreams were submitted to the Senate for analysis and interpretation.
4. Everybody dreams. EVERYBODY! Simply because you do not remember your dream does not mean that you did not dream.
5. Dreams are indispensable. A lack of dream activity can mean protein deficiency or a personality disorder. [I guess all those eggs and fish has done wonders].
6. We dream on average of one or two hours every night. And we often even have 4-7 dreams in one night. [woOooooh].
7. Blind people do dream. Whether visual images will appear in their dream depends on whether they where blind at birth or became blind later in life. But vision is not the only sense that constitutes a dream. Sounds, tactility, and smell become hypersensitive for the blind and their dreams are based on these senses.
8. Five minutes after the end of the dream, half the content is forgotten. After ten minutes, 90% is lost. [Yeah that sounds about right, i so need to jot down my dreams in a journal].
9. The word dream stems from the Middle English word, dreme which means "joy" and "music". [English language can be so complex at times].
10. Men tend to dream more about other men, while women dream equally about men and women. [i dream of sex, drugs and music].
11. Studies have shown that our brain waves are more active when we are dreaming than when we are awake. [So perhaps suffering from Insomnia is not good for my brain].
12. Dreamers who are awakened right after REM sleep, are able to recall their dreams more vividly than those who slept through the night until morning. [Rarely happens to me].
13. Physiologically speaking, researchers found that during dreaming REM sleep, males experience erections and females experience increased vaginal blood flow - no matter what the content of the dream. In fact, "wet dreams" may not necessarily coincide with overtly sexual dream content. [Hmmmm... *imagines herself tucked under her doona*].
14. People who are giving up smoking have longer and more intense dreams. [wooOooh... imagine if i quit smoking and drinking, imagine how much money i'd save].
15. Toddlers do not dream about themselves. They do not appear in their own dreams until the age of 3 or 4. [I don't remember life at 3 or 4].
16. If you are snoring, then you cannot be dreaming. [This one is directed at Chook... Mr Soul Train].
17. Nightmares are common in children, typically beginning at around age 3 and occurring up to age 7-8. [Which is when one realises that Life involves more than crapping in your diapers and shoveling food down your hatch].
18. In a poll, 67% of Americans have experienced Deja Vu in their dreams, occurring more often in females than males. [I'm not American but i fit in that statistic].
